You will experience geographically diverse terrain including red rolling hills, creek beds, mesquite with intermittent hardwood creek bottoms, and expansive prairie. This property has arguably some of the best bob white and blue quail habitat in the region.

This property is part of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Managed Lands Deer Program. Enjoy the geographical diversity of this ranch with its transitions from rocky cedar canyons to traditional mesquite flats, coupled with large agricultural planted wheat fields. It also borders a 1000 acre army core of engineer lake.

The Anderson Ranch and Lambshead Ranch are two amazing ranches that capture the essence of the popular Texas outdoorsman destination known as Shackelford County. Experience elevation changes throughout the ranch. There are multiple stocked fishing ponds. Enjoy the mature mesquite growth throughout the property with native grasses in abundance. The Anderson Ranch has a planted sunflower dove field as well as planted winter wheat food plots, while the Lambshead Ranch offers a river frontage on the Salt Fork of the Brazos River. Both of our Albany ranches offer a beautiful scenery and active wildlife.

Abundant Wildlife
It is the reason we are here! We have abundant wildlife including whitetail, wild hogs, dove, ducks, turkey, waterfowl, native quail, and multiple species of varmints. A variety of fish and fishing styles available.
Allocated Harvest-
A membership includes three trophy bucks per year to be harvested on any of Prairie Hill’s properties each season, unlimited identified management bucks, and at least three doe per year. Texas parks and wildlife bag limits apply to turkey, dove, native quail, and waterfowl. There are no limits on liberated quail, varmint, predator, and hogs.
Lodging
Stay close to all of your planned activities by staying on property at one of our fully equipped houses or cabins. There are five fully furnished lodges across five properties. Most properties have storage for UTVs, boats and other gear. Want to bring your RV? RV hookups are available on most properties. Our Mexia, TX property also offers exclusive homesite opportunities.
Wildlife Biologists
All members have access to on staff wildlife biologists. Their knowledge base includes yearly game surveys, detailed game counts, migration movements, best areas for hunting and how to get there. They also age our wildlife based off of photo submissions to insure mature animals are always harvested.
Interactive Digital Maps
You can always know where you are on these vast properties. We work with the HuntStand app and regularly update digital maps with property boundaries, roads, blinds, game spotted, etc…. HuntStand is available on the Google and Apple app store.

Mobile Game Ageing Technology
With our technology you will never again wonder if you are shooting the, “right” deer. Prairie Hill staff and members upload game photos to a shared platform. A panel of biologist age each deer twice a week so you can target your next trophy with confidence.
